Amendments to the Tax Code will make life easier for volunteers and philanthropists who care about the needs of Ukraine's defenders.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine and exempted from payment of import duties and VAT a number of goods intended for the Defense Forces involved in resisting Russian aggression.
The draft law №7234 was supported by 320 people's deputies, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs said.
“The adopted changes will make life easier for volunteers and all benefactors who promote the country's defense and mobilization readiness, protect the population during martial law,” said Ruslana Velichko-Trifonyuk , First Deputy Executive Director of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund.
The changes will also reduce the cost of production of finished products for the defenders of Ukraine. The list of goods and products not subject to customs duties has been expanded to:
- threads, fabrics and materials for the manufacture of body armor and helmets;
- flat-rolled products of other alloy steel, of a width of 600 mm or more, for the manufacture of body armor;
- safety glass, including reinforced (tempered) or laminated glass;
- optical surveillance devices;
- equipment for transmitting and receiving voice, images and other information;
- equipment for communication in a wired or wireless communication network;
- directional action listening equipment;
- radio stations of ultrashortwave and shortwave range of military purpose;
- reconnaissance and signaling equipment, parts and accessories;
- unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles;
- weather stations;
- armored and passenger cars, other motor vehicles for the transport of people, including trucks.
“Now these goods are already delivered on donations of citizens of Ukraine and other countries to law enforcement agencies outside the defense order, which significantly reduces the time of receipt of goods by combat units,” she said.

In late March, the government adopted changes to the rules for passing rubber aid across the state border, facilitating the supply of bulletproof vests, helmets and other goods for the Ukrainian military .
