Mariupol: Russia or death – CNN

Rashists in the besieged city leave no choice to civilians and forcibly, under threat of death, deport thousands of Ukrainian citizens to Russia.

In Mariupol, Russian occupiers give locals a choice: either deportation to Russia or death under the rubble . This was reported by CNN. The publication talked to ten Mariupol residents, five of whom were forcibly deported to Russia. The three were able to escape from Russia.

In their interviews, they describe how the Russian occupiers go down to the bomb shelters and order them to leave. Otherwise – death under the rubble. Many people sit in cold basements for almost a month, without food or water. They can't get to the evacuation columns, so they agree to leave. However, they do not know where they will be taken.

Human rights activists in Russia are receiving dozens of appeals from deported Ukrainians asking them to help them return home. Some manage to do it themselves. Others remain in the Russian hinterland without money and documents that racists seize in filtration camps after being taken out of Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian side, 45,000 Ukrainian citizens were forcibly deported to Russia or to the territory of the temporarily occupied Donbass. Russian invaders claim 550,000 “evacuees”, including 121,000 from Mariupol. CNN's investigation proves: this is not an evacuation, but a forced deportation under threat of death .
