A painting by the famous Ukrainian People's Artist Maria Primachenko was sold at a charity auction for $ 500,000. The money will be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundation, which organized the auction.
The auction took place live with the support of the auction house “Ducat”. Serhiy Prytula accepted and announced the bets. The starting price of the painting was 5 thousand dollars, but the auction turned out to be very successful – for $ 500 thousand it was bought by a Ukrainian from abroad.
All proceeds go to the needs of the Armed Forces. Interestingly, Maria Primachenko's family supported the charity auction and refused to royalty the sale of the painting in favor of the Armed Forces.
This is the first time that a Ukrainian painting has been sold with a hammer for such a sum. “We thank everyone and everyone who supported the initiative, who helped raise the price to such a rate, who watched the stream online.
