The process of switching to new prices will last up to 5 years.
The head of the Irish airline company Ryanair Michael O'Leary said that the price of the company's tickets is unreasonably low, so the low-cost carrier will gradually increase the cost of flights. He said this in an interview with the Financial Times.
The head of the airline emphasized that the main reason for the increase in ticket prices is a combination of “structurally higher” oil prices and increased environmental taxes.
In addition it is understood the airline has considered devaluing its work.
“I find it absurd that every time I fly into London Stansted Airport, a train ride into central London costs more than a plane ticket.” – said O'Leary.
According to O'Leary, the prices of low-cost tickets will be raised from the current average level of 40 euros to 50-60 euros. Ryanair will increase the cost of flights gradually, and this process will take up to five years.
Earlier it became known about the annual loss of Ryanair in the amount of €355 million.
As you know, Ryanair plans to resume flights from Ukraine this fall. According to Leary, Ryanair wants to be the first airline to return to Ukraine after the end of the war.
