DBR has completed the investigation into the former deputy.
The State Bureau of Investigation has completed the investigation into former MP Ilya Kiwi and filed an indictment in court, the DBR reported. Kivu has been declared internationally wanted.
“Investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation have completed an investigation into former MP Ilya Kiva for anti-Ukrainian actions. On May 10, 2022, the indictment was sent to court. Ilya Kiva is accused of treason, propaganda of war, encroachment on territorial integrity, calls to seize state power and spread communist symbols, “the statement reads.
Thus, investigators found that Kiva, while in Russia, took part in one of the propaganda shows on Russian television. The former deputy publicly called on Russia's top leadership to forcibly change the constitutional order and seize state power in Ukraine. He proposed the physical removal of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other high-ranking state officials, and also publicly called for an aggressive war on the territory of our state.
“At the initiative of investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, former People's Deputy Ilya Kivu has been declared internationally wanted. The accused faces imprisonment for up to 15 years with confiscation of property, “- summed up in the DBR.

Earlier, a case under treason was opened against Kiwi , in particular, for the fact that in October 2022 he recorded a video congratulations on the birthday of the president of the aggressor country Vladimir Putin. In his congratulatory message, Kiva praised Putin for “returning Russia to its former greatness,” stressed that Putin was “writing a new history of the Slavic world,” and wished him even more strength.
A week after such a video, Kiva recorded another “congratulation” on the anniversary of Stepan Bandera's liquidation on October 15, 1959: in that video, he fired a machine gun and fireworks exploded behind him. The Attorney General's Office has also opened a case .
