Like a number of other partner countries, Italy continues to provide financial assistance to Ukraine to keep the country's economy afloat in difficult times. On August 5, the official Rome allocated a 200 million euro loan to Ukraine to ensure payments to teaching staff of general secondary education institutions. According to the department, the agreement with the Italian government will allow Ukraine to maintain financial stability and ensure the necessary state payments to educators. Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko personally thanked his Italian colleagues, noting their continuous support from the very first day of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
“The Italian government was one of the first to support Ukraine after the start of the full-scale invasion. And today I am happy to sign a new credit agreement that will help the Ukrainian Government to maintain financial stability and continue to provide priority social spending. I am grateful for Ukraine's strong support during a difficult period for us, this once again demonstrates the strong friendship and reliable partnership between our countries,” Marchenko said.
