It is becoming more difficult for the EU to maintain unity and introduce sanctions against the Russian Federation – the Prime Minister of Estonia

According to Callas, the reasons are “war fatigue” and “the beginning of internal problems” in the countries of the bloc.

The EU is becoming more difficult to maintain unity and implement >sanctions against Russia. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaia Kallas, in an interview with The Telegraph.

In her opinion, “war fatigue” and “the beginning of internal problems” in the EU countries contribute to the bloc's “everything it is more difficult to maintain unity” in the issue of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

“It's getting harder and harder to impose sanctions, and there aren't that many elements left against which we can apply sanctions. This is a problem,” she said.

At the same time, Kallas is convinced that “Ukraine must win this war.”

“Russia is terrorizing us so that we abandon our decisions,” — she said, referring to Putin's nuclear threats.

“When it comes to Putin, of course he is a war criminal and should be held accountable for the crimes he has committed,” Kallas added.

She believes that the West should not negotiate with the head of the Kremlin.

“And there is no need to negotiate with terrorists, because it is profitable for them. We will pay a higher price in the long run,” says Callas.

Earlier, Callas criticized France and Germany for insisting on a peace agreement as soon as possible at the beginning of the war. She admitted that she is still concerned that Western allies could push Ukraine into “a premature peace that they are not really ready for.”

In her opinion, it is important to continue to support Ukraine.

“I believe that larger countries that have much larger reserves can also find something that they can give because the only way to stop this war is for Ukraine to win. A dictator understands only power, these are the lessons we have learned from our history and from what is happening right now,” Kallas said.

She also believes that Estonia would be “in the line of fire” of Putin. , even if she was “silent” about Ukraine.

“After Ukraine, he set his sights on Moldova. He is targeting Georgia and the Baltic states. He was very open about it. The only way to stop this is to help Ukraine win this war,” Kallas said.
