The EU supports the development of deposits in Norway.
The European Union considers Norway to be a reliable supplier of oil and gas and intends to support the exploration of fields in this country. This is stated in a statement following a meeting between EC Vice President Frans Timmermans and Norwegian Energy Minister Terje Aasland, Interfax-Ukraine reported.
According to the document, Norway is the largest oil and gas producer in Europe , and Norwegian supplies account for a quarter of gas imports to the EU. It is noted that the volume of relevant production in Norway increased in the first months of 2022.
