IAEA chief says Chernobyl radiation level “abnormal” after Russian occupiers

According to Grossi, there were times when radiation levels rose due to the movement of heavy equipment by Russian troops.

IAEA Chief Raphael Mariano Grossi < called the level of radiation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant “abnormal.” According to him, the Russian occupation of the area was “very, very dangerous.” This was reported by the AFP News Agency.

“The level of radiation, I would say, is abnormal,” said Grossi .

He added that there were times when the level of radiation increased due to the movement of heavy equipment by Russian troops.

“We are monitoring this day by day,” Grossi said.

It will be recalled that Russian troops withdrew from the Chernobyl NPP on March 31. On April 5, units of the National Guard of Ukraine arrived there and took the station under their protection.
