President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky insists that Russia withdraw troops “to compromise territories” where they were before the February 24 attack. Zelensky also hinted that, unlike Russian President Vladimir Putin, he does not plan to sit in the presidency.
“Look, I'm not 70 years old – you'll understand what I'm talking about. I'm not 70 years old, I definitely have time. But I'm here for a while, and after me will come a worthy man. I want to end this war, I do not want us there were hundreds of thousands dead, “he said.
He stressed that he did not consider a forceful attack – neither on Donbass, nor on the Crimea because of what would be the price of these territories, even recaptured.
The President claims that a referendum is impossible when there are troops of another state in the country. For no one will ever count the results of such a referendum. And he suggested the arrival of peacekeeping forces from the very beginning, when the invasion began. But Ukraine did not wait for peacekeepers.
“We do not need a frozen conflict on the territory of our state, I explained this at our meeting with Polish colleagues. I know that they continued this rhetoric. Fortunately, or unfortunately, this is still our country, and I am the president, so for now we we will decide whether there will be any forces here, “he said.
