Hungary promises to ratify the membership of Sweden and Finland in NATO by the end of the year

In Budapest, they say that the government supports the accession of countries to the Alliance.

Hungary plans to adopt ratification documents regarding the entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO no later than mid-December of the current year. This was announced by the head of the Prime Minister's administration, Hergei Guijas, during a briefing, writes Politico.

He noted that the government of his country supports the entry of the two Scandinavian states into the North Atlantic Alliance and has already sent the ratification documents to the National Assembly. of the Hungarian Parliament.

Answering a journalist's question whether NATO will become stronger thanks to the membership of Sweden and Finland, Gujjas said that he hopes so. He added that it would be possible to discuss the compatibility of the Alliance's expansion with Hungary's national security interests, but at the moment it does not matter.

Let us remind you that so far only two NATO member states have not ratified the accession of Sweden and Finland. We are talking about Hungary and Turkey.
