Young people are the most pessimistic in their forecasts.
In Russia, almost half of the citizens, or rather 49%, are convinced that the departure of a significant number of foreign companies will not affect their quality of life. Medusa writes about such results of the public opinion poll of the Public Opinion Foundation.
Also, 25% of respondents believe that the departure of Western companies “will not significantly worsen” the quality of life, and 7% believe that “greatly worsen.”
The most pessimistic in this regard were young people aged 18-30 – in this category, one way or another, 44% of Russians expect deterioration.
In general, 57% of Russians know about the sanctions that Western countries have imposed on Russia because of the war in Ukraine, another 28% have heard something. For the first time, only 13% heard about the sanctions, and another 2% found it difficult to answer.
At the same time, 83% of respondents said they do not refuse to buy foreign goods for political reasons.
Speaking about which foods may be in short supply, 25% of Russians named fruit, 23% – tea or coffee, 11% – vegetables. Alcohol was mentioned by only 10% of respondents, while 32% believe that there will be no shortage of food at all.

The Public Opinion Foundation poll was conducted on March 11-13, 2022 among 1,500 respondents in 104 settlements in 53 regions of the Russian Federation. The error of the poll is not specified.
