It is noted that Greek shipowners are expanding their business with Russia. In the last month alone, Greece's share in Russian oil transportation has tripled. Of the 190 tankers that left Russian ports, 76 were under the Greek flag. Thus, Russian oil tankers continue to enter European ports unhindered despite EU sanctions.

For example, in late April, the Greek supertanker Nissos Rhenia loaded Russian oil at a port in the Netherlands and headed for Singapore. The number of shipments to India, China and South Korea has also increased.

According to OPEC, Russia exports 7 million barrels of oil and oil products daily.
