Google Arts & Culture will have a separate section on the cultural heritage of Ukraine

Visitors to any Google Arts & Culture virtual museum can take a virtual walk and see the works of their favorite artists in even more detail than in person.

A separate Google Arts & Culture will appear section on cultural heritage of Ukraine. The uniqueness of this platform is that a connoisseur of visual culture can organize an online tour of iconic galleries of the world and view collections of works that have left their mark on history, the website of the Ukrainian agency says.

“The cooperation of the ICIP and Google in the issues of digitization and preservation of cultural heritage is good – an example of the format of business-state partnership,” commented Anastasia Bondar, who held a meeting dedicated to this issue with the head of the mentioned project, Loren Gavo.

Visitors of the virtual museum can “take a walk” through the institution using Google Street View. Having come across a work that interests you, you can already use the Picasa technology, which allows you to see the details of a painting, sculpture, etc. in a closer approximation than is visible to the naked eye. In fact, each of the presented elements contains a reference block on the history of creation, authorship and other interesting facts about the work.

The message does not specify which ones institutions will be affected by the news, but note that some of the Ukrainian museums have already opened opportunities to view their exhibits with the help of a 3D tour. We are talking, in particular, about the Hanenki Museum in Kyiv, whose collection includes originals by such masters as Peter Paul Rubens, Francisco Goya, Albrecht Dürer, Jacques-Louis David, Francois Boucher, Lucas Cranach the Elder.

Remember, recently created a digital library of translations of modern drama. This will allow directors to find Ukrainian plays for productions in different parts of the world.
