Germany says it is determined to inflict further economic damage on Russia and Belarus.
In connection with the war in Ukraine, Germany has suspended the exchange of information with the tax authorities of Russia and Belarus. This was reported by Der Spiegel with reference to a letter from German Finance Minister Christian Lindner to his Ukrainian counterpart Sergei Marchenko.
“This is important because the country's tax authorities can only tax companies properly if they have all the information about the tax. In addition, Germany will no longer reimburse the income tax of Russian citizens and companies registered with the country's financial offices, which will avoid double taxation “, – the edition noted.
Lindner also promised Marchenko that Germany would support the exclusion of Russia and Belarus from all bodies of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
“We are determined to inflict further economic damage on Russia and Belarus,” Linder said in a letter to Marchenko.
