After the liberation of Kherson, the campaign to liberate Crimea will begin.
The former commander of the US ground forces in Europe, General Lt. Ben Hodges predicted that the ZSU would liberate Mariupol and Melitopol by January.
“HIMARS will soon be firing from Kherson. Approaches to Crimea in radius. This will degrade the Russian defense/location, while the left wing of the counteroffensive will take Mariupol and Melitopol by January. Then the decisive phase of the campaign begins… the liberation of Crimea.” – the American general wrote on Twitter.

According to Hodges, the movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the eastern and southern directions will unite into one striking fist on the approaches to Crimea.
“The Ukrainian counteroffensive, which began in September, should be perceived as one big operation. And that is why the left wing of the counteroffensive is an operation that descended from Kharkiv and is now taking place near Donetsk, moving to Mariupol. Another wing is in Kherson. So this is the right wing. Both wings converge in Crimea. All roads lead to Crimea,” said the ex-general.
