For the first time since February 24, a ship arrived at the port of Chornomorsk for loading

On Saturday, August 6, at the city port The first ship to load our agricultural products has arrived in Chornomorsk, Odesa region, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine – the bulk carrier FULMAR S under the flag of Barbados. This was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov on Facebook.

“We can already state that thanks to the efforts of the President of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Infrastructure and our partners – the UN and Turkey – the “grain corridor” has started to work and at the entrance to the ports of Ukraine,” he wrote.

Kubrakov noted that the arrival of the vessel is an important signal for the market. In his opinion, the event should show that “grain deal”is a safe and profitable opportunity for ship owners to return to Ukrainian ports.

The Minister thanked his colleagues from the UN and Turkey for the safe conditions for the entry of the FULMAR S into the territorial waters of our state. He assured that the Ministry of Infrastructure will do everything possible to ensure that Ukraine receives and services a significantly larger number of vessels.

“In particular, we plan to reach the level of at least 3-5 vessels per day in 2 weeks. Our goal is to achieve a monthly volume of transshipment in the ports of Greater Odessa of 3 million tons of agricultural products,” Kubrakov noted.

According to the minister, the largest port of Ukraine – “Pivdenny” – will begin to operate as soon as next week within the framework of the initiative on the export of agricultural products.

He also spoke about future plans to start negotiations with Turkey and the UN regarding the inclusion of our other ports in the “grain agreement”. In particular, we are talking about Mykolayivskyi.

In addition, despite “intermediate successes in unblocked ports”, Ukraine continues to actively increase the use of Danube ports.

“We we take into account all scenarios, without placing excessive hopes on the “grain corridor”, – explained Oleksandr Kubrakov.
