A new toponym should appear this year.

The city commission on toponyms suggested the council to consider three possible locations of the future square.

“The best option seems to be to create Ukraine Square in Lembit Park, which is located behind the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For several reasons it is a symbolic place. Yes, almost all buildings in this sector were destroyed during the March bombing of 1944. Nearby is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. . On the other hand, the area of ​​Iceland is located, so the area of ​​Ukraine and the area of ​​Iceland together would form such a complete ensemble, “said the vice-mayor of the capital Jozep Wimm.

According to Wimm, Lembitu Park is very popular with citizens, and the new square will help them think about what unites the peoples of Estonia and Ukraine.

According to Wimm, the idea of ​​creating a Square in Ukraine in Tallinn was also discussed with the country's ambassador to Estonia.
