Finland has cut off railway communication with Russia: “more inexpedient”

All Finns who wished to leave the Russian Federation managed to do so. The wishes of the Russians are not mentioned in the message.

Финляндия прекратила железнодорожное сообщение с РФ:

The Allegro trains connecting Helsinki and St. Petersburg will stop on March 28, thus interrupting the railway connection between Finland and Russia. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Finnish state railway operator VR.

The VR explained that the movement of these trains, according to the decision of the Finnish authorities, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia is “no longer appropriate”, as all Finns who wished to leave Russia, managed to do so.

Prior to that, VR had virtually cut off contact with Russian Railways (Russian Railways Holding). But Allegro trains continued to run. The VR then stated that they wanted to give Finnish citizens the opportunity to return home from Russia, as well as offer almost the only way to those Russians who are going home.

We will remind, earlier because of sanctions against Russia for the Russian airlines the sky of the EU, the USA and other countries was closed.
