Erdogan got the impression that Putin's position on the dialogue with Ukraine was “softening”.

The President of Turkey plans to hold telephone conversations with Zelensky and Putin again.

President of Turkey Recep Tayip Erdogan again plans to hold telephone conversations with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin. In particular, he intends to discuss peace negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, reports Anadolu.

According to Erdogan, Turkey does not lose hope for a dialogue between the leaders of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. He added that both sides are suffering heavy losses today.

Erdogan also said that, based on the results of the last conversation with Putin, he got the impression that the Kremlin leader had “softened his position” regarding the dialogue with Ukraine.

“In the coming days, based on the results of the telephone conversations [with Putin and Zelensky – ed.], we will understand how far we can advance,” Erdogan said.

He also said that the day before he had spoken with Zelenskyi.

“I felt in his speech the absence of obstacles and readiness to solve this issue. We are not losing hope for peace,” Erdogan added.

Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said that at the moment he does not plan to hold negotiations with the head of the aggressor country, Vladimir Putin.

According to Zelenskyi, it is not in his principles to start a conversation with a person who issues ultimatums.

It is not the first time that Zelensky has declared that negotiations with Russia at this stage of the war are impossible due to Moscow's inability to adequately formulate its position.
