Embargo on oil from the Russian Federation: the EU published an explanation with an unpleasant surprise for Russia

Together with the embargo on Russian oil, the EU also banned mixtures containing oil from Russia.

The European Commission published an explanation regarding embargo on Russian oilwhich was introduced last month. It turned out that not only oil from the Russian Federation in its pure form will fall under the ban, but also in the composition of mixtures – so-called blends, which are now actively used in Europe. Russian mass media write about this.

As stated in the explanation, if Russian and non-Russian oil are combined, the entire lot is banned. The exception is the ability of the supplier to clearly show which part of the batch was made in Russia, then this part will be released to the European market.

RosZMI has already panicked. There they talked about the fact that now simple methods of circumventing sanctions will no longer be available for Russian oil producers in the form of using similar mixtures when the tanker was supplied with oil from several sources, 50.1% of which was from non-sanctioned countries.

« This is bad, because now gray schemes will have to be used for supplies by analogy with Iran, which has been under various sanctions since 1979, which will cause a strong increase in the cost of logistics,” one of the publications writes.
