Economic recovery of Ukraine after the war: the government named the main principles

Post-war reconstruction of Ukraine will be a matter for the whole civilized world, the government says.

The government, the Ministry of Economy, leading experts and business associations are currently working on a plan to restore Ukraine after the war. In addition, the public sector is also invited to form this document, according to The Cabinet/span>

“Post-war reconstruction of Ukraine will be one of the largest projects since the well-known Marshall Plan. Its implementation will be a matter for the whole civilized world, because today we are fighting not only for ourselves but also for global security, “said Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

Principles on which they plan to form a plan for the restoration of Ukraine:

  1. Full access to EU and G7 markets. This will help manufacturers integrate into global retail chains and increase exports. The United Kingdom and the European Union have already announced the abolition of import duties on Ukrainian goods. The government expects similar actions from the governments of the United States, Japan, and Canada.
  2. Obtaining candidate status and then full membership in the EU. The candidacy will provide Ukraine with access to the European Union's structural funds, which will be a significant support.
  3. Building an economy based on the principles of deregulation and liberalization. Most licenses and permits have already approved the declarative principle for business.
  4. Establishment of logistics routes in the western direction. The government is working to increase their capacity. The first results are already available: a memorandum has been signed between Ukraine and Poland.
  5. export earnings, in particular in agriculture and metallurgy.
  6. Development of the domestic military-industrial complex. It is not only about the purchase of weapons, but also production, including through the transfer of military technology. This will allow you to establish production as quickly as possible in a wide range: from small arms to air defense. At the same time, military-tech will be a driver of development for the civilian sectors of the economy.
  7. Self-sufficiency in energy. Increasing own gas production and development of nuclear energy. “It is quite possible to gain energy independence in 3-5 years,” the government said.
  8. Climate modernization. The creation of new facilities in various industries must take into account the principles of the “green economy”.
  9. Localization of at least 60%. Ukrainian companies and producers will be involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine. This will boost the economy, create new jobs, and revitalize entrepreneurship.
