After a long search on April 1, law enforcement officers near the village of Guta Mezhigorskaya in the Kiev region found the dead photographer and documentary filmmaker Max Levin , reports LB.ua. Accompanied by the military, and in the past also by the photographer Alexei Chernyshev, on March 13 they went to Guta Mezhigorskaya to document the consequences of Russian aggression.

The men left the cars and went towards the village of Moshchun. Since then, there has been no connection with Levin or Chernyshev. It later became known that the fighting began in the area where Max Levin was going to work. Where is Alexei Chernyshev now, and what is unknown with him.

Max Levin was born on July 7, 1981 in the Kiev region. From the age of 15 he dreamed of becoming a photographer. As a young man, Maxim Levin attended a photo club and took pictures on the mirror “Kyiv-98”. After school, he graduated from Kiev Polytechnic Institute, where he studied “computer systems engineer”. He worked as a photojournalist. Max Levin has worked as a photojournalist, documentary photographer and cameraman for many Ukrainian and international publications.

Maxim Levin worked in the editorial office of LB.ua, and also collaborated with Reuters, BBC, TRT World, Associated Press, Hromadske. His photo was published by Wall Street Journal, TIME, Breaking news Poland, EU AGENDA, World news, The Moscow Time, Korrespondent.net, ELLE, TV-24, Radio Bulgaria, Ukraine Crisis Media center, Vatican news, Radio Svoboda (RFE / RL ).

Most of his documentary projects are related to the war in Ukraine.

“Every Ukrainian photographer dreams of taking a photo that will stop the war,” the journalist was quoted as saying by LB.ua.

In 2014, together with his colleague Markian Liseiko, Levin founded the AFTER ILOVAISK afterilovaisk.com military project to preserve and rethink the significance of the events of August 2014 by the military, their families and citizens of Ukraine as a whole. Maxim Levin was one of those who managed to get out of the Ilovaysk boiler.

In addition to journalism, he has created dozens of photo and video projects for humanitarian organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), UN, UNICEF, OSCE, UN Woman.

Alexei Chernyshev and Maxim Levin have worked together for many years. In 2014, at the height of the Revolution of Dignity, they were injured during a picket near the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi court on January 10.

Max Levin is survived by four minor sons, a civil wife and elderly parents.
