Дерипаска о переговорах Украины и РФ: похоже, нельзя будет обойтись без Китая

Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska believes that Russia's war against Ukraine could drag on for months .

“Unfortunately, we are still far from the end of this conflict, and judging by the pace of these strange negotiations, peace will unfortunately not come in the coming months,” he wrote in the Telegram.

Deripaska believes that China should join the Ukrainian-Russian talks at this stage.

“If a week ago a tripartite agreement could have been enough (Ukraine-Russia-USA), now it seems that it will not be possible to do without China's participation. And the four-party talks are another song, which means that people will suffer for months to come, ”he wrote.

The oligarch predicts a food crisis by September. Ukraine, as one of the main suppliers of grain in the world, will not be able to conduct a full-fledged sowing in the war.

In addition, Russian warships are blocking the exit of 94 Ukrainian grain trucks to the Mediterranean . The United Nations estimates that 13 million people worldwide may face food shortages.

“By September, the world will be plunged into a global food crisis, and governments of all countries will be concerned about their own choices, and completely different new challenges,” Deripaska said. The oligarch believes that the war must end now.

This is how Deripaska reacted to the interview of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the American TV channel Fox News, in which he spoke about his vision of the end of the war and Putin's ultimate goal.

Success in repelling the Russian offensive means that the occupation of the whole country no longer threatens us, but it does not mean the disappearance of risks for the future of Ukraine as a sovereign country. Russia may wage a war of attrition , despite heavy losses among ill-trained soldiers or a collapse in the economy.

Much will depend on what Russia itself calls “victory”, writes The Guardian. But if dictator Vladimir Putin ends the war with the conviction that Russia has not lost, it will push him to plan new wars against countries he considers “part of the Russian Empire.”
