The US fears that Iran will arm Russia for war with Ukraine.
Attempts of Russian President Vladimir Putin to deepen ties with Iran amid the conflict in Ukraine is a “serious threat,” the US president's national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Wednesday.
Sullivan's comments came after US officials said , that Iran is preparing to help Russia deliver several hundred drones, including combat-ready ones, for use in Ukraine.
Putin is expected to visit Tehran next week.
Sullivan called the timing of Putin's trip “interesting.”
“Deepening Russia's alliance with Iran to kill Ukrainians is something the whole world should look at and consider as a serious threat,” said Sullivan.
