Danilov explained why it was impossible to evacuate the population before the Russian invasion

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council stated that the deportation of Ukrainians to safe places was complicated by the scale of the Russian offensive.

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov spoke about the conditions of evacuation of the population, which developed on the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. According to him, it was physically impossible to take most of the citizens to safe places.

In an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda, Danilov stressed that despite the readiness of the Ukrainian authorities to attack Russia, there was no clear understanding of the scale of the enemy's offensive.

“When people sit and think, 'Look, we had to evacuate!' We had to evacuate the whole country, tell me, please? Bucha had to be evacuated. Well. Did Chernihiv have to be evacuated? Did Sumy have to be evacuated? And Kherson? And Nikolaev? People who say that, they just don't know the scale and they don't know how it all works. Another thing, we could not even imagine that the Russians would treat the civilian population in this way. It just goes beyond any common sense, “said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
