Intelligence reports that the CSTO countries, in addition to the aggressors, are neutral in the issue of full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) do not support Russia in the war against Ukraine and do not want to take participation in it, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense. The CSTO, in addition to Russia, includes Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan .
“Despite Russia's insistence, CSTO members do not want to make decisions on conducting peacekeeping operations outside their countries. Including on the territory of the so-called “DPR” and “LPR”, – said in the GUR MOU.
It is stated that instead, CSTO members may consider the limited deployment of national contingents in Russia or Belarus. But this is possible only after the official statement on the attack of Ukraine on their territory.
“On April 15, the Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylikov told Kazakhstan that Kazakhstan had not received a request to send national troops to Ukraine. He confirmed that during the last meeting of the CSTO military committee, the issue of participation in the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine was not considered, “the intelligence added.
The MOU's GUR noted that all CSTO member states (except Russia and Belarus) are now neutral on the Russian invasion. None of them recognized the annexation of Crimea and the independence of the illegal armed groups “DPR”/”LPR”.

A few days later, it was reported that Russia had asked Kazakhstan to join the attack on Ukraine. At the same time, the official Nur-Sultan refused to send CSTO “peacekeepers” to Donbas .
