Experts assume that the ship was hit by a drone.
On Thursday, August 4, in the Black Sea not far from Sevastopol annexed by Russia, smoke was recorded from a Russian warship, and later – strange maneuvers of a patrol ship. This was reported by the expert of the OSINT project H. I. Suttonon Twitter.
“Video of another important naval action near Crimea today. Ukraine probably shot down a Russian ship in the north of Crimea (dark smoke). Then a Russian patrol ship near Sevastopol in the second images, it is not clear what is happening. We are waiting for further clarity,” wrote G.I. Sutton.

Another video from the scene was published on the Twitter profile of the OSINT project. They also announced that the ship was probably damaged by an armed forces drone, but noted that the information needs to be confirmed.
“Does anyone have an idea about this? Unconfirmed information that this is a UAV of the Armed Forces of Ukraine aimed at striking a Russian target (appears to be an ammunition/fuel depot),” the OSINT page wrote.

And later G.I. Sutton made another publication with images of another Russian vessel.
