China will not export its development model and import someone else's – a spokesman for the CPC congress

The PRC is heading for ever greater marginalization and closure.

China will not export the Chinese development model to other countries , and will not import models from other countries. The Chinese Communist Party is against other countries imposing their models on China, because each country must explore its own path to modernization. This statement was made by Sun Yeli, spokesman for the 20th National Congress of the CPC, at a press conference on Monday, October 24, Global Times reports.

When asked whether “China's modernization offers a new choice to achieve modernization” (a phrase used in a report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC), Sun said that although modernization is a common aspiration for people from all countries, there is no single model for achieving such a goal.

He believes that Chinese modernization is not similar to the modernization path of other countries and has its own characteristics. He also noted that China's huge population means that the country cannot simply copy the model of other countries. In addition, he emphasized that China's modernization is about ensuring that all its citizens live well, achieve shared prosperity, and not leave certain groups behind.

Sun Yeli also said that China's modernization is a combination of both material and spiritual civilization.

“Chinese modernization is the modernization of peaceful development. We did not follow the old path of war, colonization and robbery, but through peace, development and mutually beneficial cooperation,” he said.

He also reiterated that China will not export its own development path or import other countries' models.

“When we say that China's modernization offers a new choice to achieve modernization, it expresses our attitude to promote exchanges between different civilizations and countries,” said the press secretary of the CPC congress.
