Partner countries continue to provide Ukraine with versatile military assistance. Thus, on August 12, on the territory of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, within the framework of the UNIFIER-UK training operation, training of Ukrainian recruits by servicemen of the Canadian Armed Forces began, the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

Due to prolonged hostilities, Ukraine needs constant training of new qualified personnel to continue effective resistance. The international community responded to the call and helped organize relevant training on the territory of the United Kingdom. For this mission, Canada sent a detachment of qualified instructors and military personnel.

“It is an incredible honor for us to resume the training of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Our training teams are made up of highly qualified, motivated and professional military personnel who are dedicated to this mission. We provide vital training that serves to strengthen the capabilities, strength and combat readiness of the already proven and determined Ukrainian Defense Forces,” said Warrant Officer Corey Ozerkevych, UNIFIER-UK training operation sergeant major.

In a fairly short term, Ukrainian recruits must learn the necessary skills and knowledge. The speed with which Ukrainians learn the material and the conscientiousness with which they perform tasks amazes the instructors.

“We're working with the Ukrainian recruits to get the most out of the short time we have,” said Lance Corporal Alexander Campbell, an infantry soldier also with the Canadian Forces' 3rd Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. – “It's a positive learning experience, and I'm constantly amazed at how quickly they learn and how they constantly repeat the exercises to remember.” Canada budgeted 1.2 billion US dollars for military aid to Ukraine.
