Canada and the United States will “double control” over exports of goods to Russia

Relevant country authorities will share information, conduct inspections and audits.

The Minister of Public Security of Canada Marco Mendichin announced that that the US and Canadian border services will intensify work to control exports to Russia of goods and services that in one way or another help the economy of the aggressor country, Ukrinform reports.

“Canada will strongly oppose Russian aggression, whether it is Putin's “This is why the Canadian Border Guard is redoubled its efforts to prevent important goods and technology from falling into Russian hands. Renewed cooperation with the United States will help and bring Russia to justice,” he said. “Together, we will share information, conduct inspections and audits before and after shipment, inspect, detain and confiscate cargo,” the agency said.

The minister added that Canada and the United States are jointly committed to “using their power and resources to detect, prevent and stop violations of export controls and enforce laws and regulations.”

Recall that Canada has imposed new sanctions against Russia's oil, gas and chemical industries “in response to the ongoing blatant and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin. ”
