The topic of bioweapons in Ukraine today was number one in Russia.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin during the summit of the Treaty Organization on Collective Security (CSTO) in Moscow told its participants about the alleged evidence of the existence in Ukraine of “laboratories for the development of biological weapons.”
“Documentary evidence has now been obtained that components of biological weapons were being created in the immediate vicinity of our borders, violating conventions banning biological and toxin weapons, and possible methods and mechanisms for destabilizing the epidemiological situation in the post-Soviet space,” the head of state said.
According to him, in the post-Soviet space “the Pentagon has established dozens of specialized biolaboratories and centers, and they are not busy providing practical medical care to the population. Their main task is to collect biomaterials and study the specifics of the spread of viruses and dangerous diseases. “
Statements by Russia about alleged biological weapons in Ukraine are not new, but today they were the main topic of the day. In the morning, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia would raise “the issue of biolaboratories in Ukraine” at a conference on the Convention on the Prohibition of Biological and Toxin Weapons, and State Duma Vice Speaker Irina Yarova said the United States had set up biological laboratories. Russia and they “can be seen as de facto the creation of NATO facilities.”

It will be recalled that disarmament chief Izumi Nakamitsu told a meeting of the Security Council that the UN has no information on any program to create biological weapons in Ukraine. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko also stressed that all attempts by Russia to create false excuses for war with Ukraine are doomed to failure.
