Another exchange of prisoners: among the released Ukrainians – the rector of the church of the PCU

This is the ninth exchange of prisoners since the beginning of the full-scale war.

On May 6, another exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia took place, reported Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk. More than 40 Ukrainians are returning home: 28 military and 13 civilians.

Among the released from captivity – 11 women, as well as the rector of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

This is the ninth exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia since the beginning of the full-scale war. The first took place on March 24, the eighth – on April 30.

According to Vereshchuk, the Russians are holding captives, in addition to military servicemen, Ukrainian priests, journalists, activists, mayors and ordinary civilians. They are being held in prisons not even in Ukraine, but in Kursk, Bryansk and Rostov regions. These people have to sit in the same cells with criminals .
