The President of Poland sent his children by plane to Rome for treatment.
The presidential plane of the Polish leader arrived in Rome with Ukrainian children with cancer on board. President Andrzej Duda and his wife Anna Kornahauser-Duda took the children for treatment.
Poland has become a real refuge for millions of Ukrainian citizens forced to flee the war in the neighboring country. Even the President of Poland is personally involved in helping and supporting Ukrainians. Andrzej Duda wrote in his Facebook about the departure for the treatment of children with cancer.
“Ukrainian children arrived in Rome with us, for whom cancer therapy was prepared by the Pediatric Hospital of the Infant Jesus in Rome,” the Polish president wrote.
On board the presidential plane, the youngest Ukrainian is three-month-old Victoria, who was born just two months before the war.
“At the tomb of St. John Paul II, we prayed today that her name would be prophetic for her homeland,” said Andrzej Duda.
A total of five children with cancer were sent for treatment. Their parents, guardians, brothers and sisters flew to Rome with them. The first lady of Poland visited the children's hospital.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian refugees are beginning to return to Ukraine. More than 25,000 Ukrainians decided to return after a month abroad.
We will remind, since the beginning of the Russian military aggression Ukrainians are compelled to leave the houses and leave far from places of military operations. According to the UN, 4 million people have crossed the Ukrainian border.
