Ukrainian journalists were awarded a special prize for their work during the war.
To all Ukrainian journalists > decided to award the Pulitzer Prize in a special nomination “Special Mention”. This was announced on the website of the Pulitzer Prize.
The award committee noted that Ukrainian journalists decided to be awarded for “courage, endurance and devotion to the truthful coverage of the events during the ruthless invasion” of Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.

For reference, the Pulitzer Prize was established by Hungarian-American journalist and newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer, who left money to Columbia University after his death in 1911. Part of his legacy was used to establish the School of Journalism in 1912 and to establish the Pulitzer Prize, which was first awarded in 1917.

It will be recalled that from February 24 to April 29, 243 crimes against journalists were recorded in Ukraine , including murders, injuries, and abductions.
