Agreement on participation of international criminal court in investigation of war crimes in Ukraine signed – Eurojust

ISS Prosecutor Karim Khan and the Prosecutors General of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine have signed an agreement on the participation of an international war crimes tribunal in the work of the investigative team

The International Criminal Court (ICC) will take part in a joint investigation team investigating war crimes charges in Ukraine after the Russian invasion. This was announced on Monday by the EU Judicial Cooperation Agency Eurojust.

ISS Prosecutor Karim Khan and the Prosecutors General of Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine signed an agreement on the participation of an international war crimes tribunal in the investigation team. Such cooperation was introduced into the practice of the ICC for the first time in its history.

In March, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine signed an agreement to establish an exchange group information and investigation of suspicions of war crimes and crimes against humanity. At the same time, Karim Khan launched an investigation into possible war crimes committed in Ukraine.
