Aggressor hinders democratic transformation: human rights organizations around the world call for the exclusion of Russia from the UN Security Council

The statement was signed by almost 40 organizations.

ZMINA Human Rights Center says that human rights activists from All over the world call on the UN General Assembly to exclude Russia from the Security Council. Human rights activists emphasize that the actions of the occupiers in Ukraine are part of a broad and protracted struggle by the Russian authorities against respect for human rights and human rights defenders, and Russian influence throughout the region hinders democratic transformation. They noted that representatives of the ROC MP and radical far-right groups were also involved.

“In Russia, human rights defenders and organizations campaigning for free and fair elections, respect for women's rights and religious, ethnic, sexual and gender rights “Minorities, as well as those who are fighting corruption and environmental degradation, face the greatest threat from the authorities. Indeed, the work of human rights defenders and organizations in the Russian Federation has never been so difficult and dangerous,” the human rights activists said.
