The country has already given up electricity and must stop importing oil and gas.
Lithuania has stopped importing Russian electricity since May 22 . Russian gas and oil are also no longer supplied to the country. This was stated by the Ministry of Energy of Lithuania.
“According to the decision of the electricity exchange operator Nord Pool, trade in electricity produced in Russia, which was carried out by Inter RAO, is suspended,” – said in a statement on the website of the agency. >
Previously, Lithuania received 17% of the electricity needed for domestic consumption. Now the government has decided to replace it with domestic production, as well as imports from Latvia, Poland and Sweden.
It will be recalled that the Lithuanian authorities announced the refusal of electricity from Russia on May 20. And today, May 22, this decision came into force.
