He wanted to sow chaos and panic in Zaporozhye and planned a crime at a mass gathering in the city center,” the SBU said.
To create an explosive device, he installed a cartridge and an explosive in the crutch cavity, “and to enhance the effect of the damage, he filled the explosive with elements of striking action: nails and bolts.” To confuse the tracks, two days before the day when the terrorist attack was to take place, he arrived in Zaporozhye from western Ukraine.
