A Russian helicopter violated Finnish airspace

The local border service has already launched an investigation into the incident.

On May 4, a Russian helicopter violated Finnish airspace, despite a current ban by local authorities. It is reported that it happened in the south of the country around 10 am.

According to Yle with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Finland, the violation occurred at about 10:40 in the settlements of Parikka and Kesyalahti, located on the land border with the Russian Federation near the Karelian Isthmus. It is reported that the Mi-17 helicopter flew into Finland for about 4-4.5 km. The Border Guard Service has already launched an investigation into the incident.
