They are kept in four places
< span style="font-weight: 400;">More than ten thousand Mariupol residents are in prisons in the territory occupied by Russia, the Mariupol City Council reported on Saturday.
“Peaceful, civilian residents were detained by the occupiers and sent to prisons. Four such prisons are known: two in Olenivka, Donetsk SIZO and Makiivka. People are in terrible and inhumane conditions, like in a concentration camp. 10 people are locked in cramped cells 2 by 3 meters. The people of Mariupol hardly get water and food. They are not taken outside. They do not have any access to normal medical care and are subjected to various forms of torture – from psychological to physical,” – reports city council in Telegram.
The occupiers created real concentration camp conditions in which the peaceful residents of Mariupol are forced to survive.
“I call on the International Red Cross and the UN to pay attention to the illegal detention of the city's citizens. Use all possible tools to obtain lists of prisoners. To achieve that they receive decent living conditions. But work together for the liberation of every Mariupol citizen,” Mayor Vadym Boychenko emphasized.
