40 Russian diplomats are being expelled from Poland for espionage

About 40 Russian diplomats are planned to be expelled from Poland because of their activities that do not correspond to the status of a diplomat, which means espionage in the language of diplomacy, the Polish agency PAP reports, citing government sources.

According to the publication, on Wednesday morning the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Poland Sergei Andreev was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The list of diplomats who, according to the Polish authorities, carried out espionage activities in Poland that do not comply with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations includes about 40 names. Among others, employees of the Russian Embassy in Warsaw.

The publication notes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to confirm this information on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier , Slovakia said it was sending three Russian diplomats. As it turned out, the decision to deport him was made after the Slovak police detained employees of the Ministry of Defense and counterintelligence on suspicion of espionage in favor of Russia.
