Without two clubs and with special regulations: the UPL decided not to cancel the new season

The Ukrainian championship will be held even in wartime.

On May 27, the General Meeting of Participants took place in the Football House Ukrainian Premier League , according to the official website of the tournament.

The meeting was attended by UPL leaders, UAF President Andriy Pavelko, as well as representatives of all UPL clubs and candidates for promotion from the First league.

UPL has confirmed that the 2022/23 season will definitely take place.

At the same time, Chernihiv's Desna and Mariupol will not take part in the next championship due to the destroyed club infrastructure and difficult military situation. At the same time, both teams will be assigned places in the UPL so that they can return. “From the First League.

Special regulations will be developed for the season, but its details are not specified yet. The working groups together with the Government of Ukraine will decide on the venue of the matches – be it Ukrainian cities or one of the neighboring countries. Also, the calendar of matches has not been approved yet.

It will be recalled that the current season of the Ukrainian Football Championship ended prematurely due to Russia's military invasion. The first place went to Shakhtar, which was two points ahead of Dynamo by 18 points.
