On the night of March 28, the Oscar ceremony took place, for the first time in several years it was held with the presenters, but not without scandals. Actor Will Smith, who was awarded the statuette as the best actor, hit the face of host Chris Rock.
Rock joked from the scene about Smith's wife, Jade Pinkett-Smith, comparing her to the heroine of “Soldier Jane.” This role was played by Demi Moore, who shaved her head. Smith's wife suffers from alopecia – a pathological hair loss.

After this joke, Smith took the stage, punched Rock in the face, and then returned to his desk. The comedian himself tried to turn the actor's act into a joke, but Smith continued to answer him while sitting at the table. He told Rocco to “shut up his bad mouth” and never talk about his wife again.
A few minutes later, Smith won an Oscar for his role in “King Richard: Raising a Champion.” During his speech at the Oscars, the actor burst into tears and apologized for his actions. In his speech, he also noted that “he looks like a crazy father, as Richard Williams was called.”
“But love makes you do crazy things. Able to love and protect my mother, my family, my wife…, ”Smith said.
