The American Film Academy has banned actor Will Smith from attending any what events it has organized for 10 years. This is due to the fact that the actor hit the host of the Oscar ceremony Chris Rock , reports CNN.
“The board decided that, starting April 8, for a term of 10 years , Mr. Smith will be barred from attending any Academy events or programs, in person or online, including, but not limited to, the Academy Awards ceremony, “the Academy said in a statement.

It is noted that the Board of Governors of the Academy adopted such a decision at a meeting held on April 8. It was originally scheduled for April 18, but was held earlier as Smith announced his departure from the Academy.
Recall that during the Oscars on March 28, Rock joked that Smith's wife Jada Pinkett -Smith looks like a soldier Jane, for the role of which Demi Moore shaved her head. Jada suffers from alopecia – a pathological hair loss. Smith then took the stage and punched Rock in the face. A few minutes later, the actor won an Oscar and apologized for his actions during the Oscar speech. Later, Smith also posted an apology post on his Instagram.
