Ukrainian producers have created an association to shoot documentaries about the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine. This was announced on Facebook by former Minister of Culture and Information Policy Vladimir Borodyansky.
“On March 18, 2022, Ukrainian film and TV producers Vladimir Borodyansky, Viktor Mirsky, Daria Legoni-Fialko, Alla Lipovetskaya, Irina Zarya, Marina Kvasova, Igor Storchak created a production association. Its goal is to produce documentaries and educational films and series that should tell the world about the war between Russia and Ukraine, its origins, causes and potential consequences. The process of collecting applications, selecting projects, production and creative teams, as well as raising funds for funding has already been launched today, ”the statement reads.
To launch the initiative, each of the founders made a personal cash contribution of 1 million hryvnias, which cannot be withdrawn. The goal of the production association is to release the first projects in a few months. A collection of applications from directors and producers has already been announced for this purpose. They promise to choose a funded project by a simple majority of votes.
“The association is also actively working to attract Ukrainian and foreign investors and donors, using its own network of contacts of the founders. The unification does not aim to make a profit until the complete liberation of Ukraine from the troops of the Russian aggressor and the final victory. All the money received from the founders of the association, as well as funds, patrons, philanthropists, as well as the distribution of projects will be reinvested in new launches, “Borodyansky added.
He noted that the initiative of the producers is private, aims at synergy of all founders in difficult times for Ukraine and the media market. Producer companies are also continuing their independent work.
“Our goal is to unite and use the best opportunities of each of us to achieve maximum effect and attract as many media workers as possible, creating new jobs in these turbulent times,” said the founding producers.
