The radio station will create original programs and broadcast Ukrainian music.
On the morning of March 22 in the Czech capital began online broadcasting “Radio Ukraine” (“Rádio Ukraina”), according to the Embassy of Ukraine in Prague on Facebook.
The radio station will broadcast entirely Ukrainian-language content and only Ukrainian music.
Her work is designed for Ukrainians who are forced to leave for the Czech Republic to escape the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, according to Ukrainian Ambassador Yevhen Perebyinos, Radio Ukraine may also be of interest to Czechs who want to get acquainted with Ukrainian music or learn the Ukrainian language.
The radio channel will not only broadcast Ukrainian songs, but also create author's programs, current news releases from Ukraine and the Czech Republic, and inform about events that may be of interest to Ukrainians in the Czech Republic. They also plan to launch a series of consultation programs with different experts.
The embassy emphasizes that “a significant part of the radio will be devoted to children's programs, in particular, stage readings of children's tales.”
The launch of the Ukrainian radio was initiated by the media holding Media Bohemia, which owns several Czech radio stations. Ambassador Eugene Perebyinis, Czech Minister of Education Petr Gazdik and Minister of Culture Martin Baksa also took part in the opening of the project.
You can listen to “Radio Ukraine” only online so far: on the website radioukrajina.cz or in the mobile application that broadcasts radio programs (for example, radia.cz).
