This year's Booker Prize longlist has been announced

This year, the youngest and oldest authors in its history are applying for the prize.

One of the most prestigious literary awards in the world, Bukerivska, announced a long list of contenders for this year's award. It included 13 books, according to the award's website.

It is noted that this year the youngest and oldest authors in history of the award. In addition, Claire Keegan's 116-page novel Such Little Things became the shortest Booker Prize contender in its history. It broke the record set in 1979 by the novel Offshore by Penelope Fitzgerald, it consists of 132 pages. This is the second time her novel has been shortlisted for the Booker, the first time it happened in 2009.

Remember, last year, South African writer Demon Gelgut won the Booker Prize. He was awarded for the novel “The Promise”.
