British-Australian pop star Olivia Newton- John died at the age of 73, reports CNBC with reference to her husband John Easterling. According to him, the actress and singer fought cancer for a long time.

Easterling noted that his wife died on at her ranch in California, surrounded by family and friends.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, Newton-John was one of the most famous celebrities in the world. In 1978, she played one of the main roles in the musical Briolin, her partner on the stage was John Travolta. In 1981, the hit Physical was released, which Billboard magazine called the #1 single of the decade.
During her 50-year career as a singer, she sold more than 100 million copies of her albums worldwide.
The last at one time, Newton-John was best known as an activist who spoke out in support of women with breast cancer. Newton-John herself was first diagnosed with the disease in 1992.
