A chubby man nicknamed Pamfir used to smuggle, but now, due to his son's careless behavior, he is again forced to break the law.
The Croisette Theater in Cannes took place premiere of the film “Pamfir” by Ukrainian director Dmytro Sukholitky-Sobchuk. Due to the fact that this is his debut work, the film is a contender for the Golden Camera Award, writes Derzhkino. was faced with the need to violate the law.
Preparations for the filming were carried out during the coronavirus quarantine – almost the entire 2020 year. Beginning in October 2020, filming continued until the beginning of spring next year in Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Post-production lasted another year, the last stage of which, which coincided with the application to Cannes, was very difficult, because took place during the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine.

Although the plot of “Pamfir” has nothing to do with the hybrid war, but in The echoes of the film are still audible: in the radio and TV programs that appear in the frame, in the dialogues of the characters. And, according to Dmytro Sukholytsky-Sobchuk, “thanks to these echoes, we identify the unity of the entire Ukrainian society, which has a troubled neighbor in the East.”
Ukraine won the documentary film festival in Munich. On the screen – Ukraine. Donbas. Ukrainian boys-volunteers live in the trenches they have dug, from time to time making combat raids, and in their free time they tell the camera about their life before the war and about their dreams after.
